Today is World Water Day. But we think World Water Day must be every day, especially now when hygiene is more important than ever to stop Covid-19 from spreading.
Ensuring 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, however proper water and running water access is a rare thing not only for millions of people but for billions around the world!
According to the #UN, in 2017…
➡️ 2.2 BN people lacked safely managed drinking water
➡️4.2 BN people lacked safely managed sanitation
And COVID-19 has just revealed how vulnerable 3 BN people are, because of the lack of BASIC handwashing facilities at home.
➡️ 2 in 5 health care facilities worldwide have NO SOAP & WATER or ALCOHOL-BASED HAND RUB (2016).
➡️ Water scarcity could displace 700 million people by 2030
Behind the numbers, some real people drink and use filthy water.
